    Incoming hot take:
I know people rave about the Augusta experience, but the fans seem to very far from the action on most holes.
Lined 20 deep and 100 yards from the green on a lot of holes does not seem a prime viewing experience.

    O
Having attended a few PGA (and one USGA) events, one of my favorite things to do on Thursday or Friday is pick a group and follow them around the course, hole to hole.

From what I can see at Augusta National, that is discouraged for the “patrons” and impossible because some areas, such as the 12th green and most of the 13th, are inaccessible.

Koepka is gonna roll, isn't he?

Still 45 holes to play and the weather's going to be nasty tomorrow. If the wind kicks up, a big lead can become a small one in a hurry.

Remember how, for years, many would say, "Phil has to win a U.S. Open someday. He's just too good and contends so often."

Rory's probably never going to win The Masters.

Not Masters related, but I downloaded the new EA Sports golf game this morning and jumped right in with a round at Bandon Dunes. I like it a lot better than the 2K game, at least in terms of swing mechanics. There seems to be a lot of depth to the career mode, too. First game since the old Tiger games in the early 2010s to have Augusta National.

I do have to say I detest Koepka’s shoes this week.

"At five over, no reason to lay up here."

Colt Knost about Danny Willett, just before a 270-yard shot on No 15.

I enjoy listening to Knost, who is on the Masters streaming featured groups crew. He's engaging, very knowledgeable about the courses and players, and doesn't sound like a drone in the booth fluffing the players.

Koepka in the cabin at 12-under -- and ahead of the storms.

Sam Bennett is looking like an actual contender.

He won’t even make the weekend this year.

From the sound of the weather forecast, that last part is going to be a huge factor.
