I'm with Larson and Richard Petty. The dirt track gimmick isn't worth the trouble. Bring back real Bristol racing instead.

And let's see if the Chicago street course makes for decent racing or just a lot of high-speed parade laps.

Based on 2023 TV ratings, which are showing double-digit losses across the board, NASCAR better come up with something quick to find new eyeballs.

It was Easter. I'm accustomed to NASCAR not racing.

Seems like Cody Ware will be spending a lot more time away from NASCAR than originally anticipated.

The Iredell County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office listed Ware in its jail records Monday, indicating he was held on a felony charge of “assault by strangulation — inflict serious injury” and a misdemeanor charge of “assault on female.” The sheriff’s records also indicated Ware’s bond was set at $3,000 after his arrest.

When BMS did dirt the first time for World of Outlaws, it was pretty neat because most of us had never seen it. It was a lot of work for the track, but it brought something new to the area.
Cup on dirt in 2023 isn't necessary. Now if they put Cup drivers in Late Models on dirt for an All-Star race or something, that might be fun.
I did scoff at Petty when he said points shouldn't be paid for dirt races. I about choked on the irony.

Same, and this is not an improvement.

When they showed the overhead shots toward the end of the race at Bristol, it looked like they were racing on the regular track. Most of the dirt had been pushed out of the racing grooves.

If/when they decide to tear up the Wilkesboro asphalt, don’t repave — have that be your dirt track in addition to hosting the all-star race (they’re very lucky they fell into that idea, thanks to Dale Jr. and to Marcus Smith basically giving the bird to his dad).

Bristol is the one short track that didn't need dirt. Or anything else.

Should have been left alone ... which is probably why NASCAR felt the urge to once again fix something that wasn't broken.

The crowd Sunday night looked terrible.

The dirt was packed down. That’s why it looked black. The cushion was mostly packed down, which is something they’ll have to figure out how to prevent. That pit in turns 3-4 looked scary, though.

That wasn’t NASCAR. That was Bruton. The “progressive” banking needs to be flattened out.

Bruton's gone. Now they can leave Bristol alone ... after they shovel out the dirt.
