    It’s a horizontal slider.

Simply put, take that downward action on the slider and turn it sideways. That's your sweeper.

It's the pitch on which Shohei struck out Trout in the WBC. Ridiculous right-left movement.

A sweeper is a slider with a lot of horizontal break. It's been on a rise in popularity, mostly after the Yankees staff seemed to have a lot of success with a slider grip change in their system a couple of years ago. And now, it's sweeping across...wait, no, not going there.

It's like when everyone started talking about the slurve in '85.

If you strike out someone on a sweeper to end the game you can have a celly.

Arraez and his .537 average just got his hand spiked by J.T. Realmuto. Miami fans holding their breath a bit.

And the first three of those crowds were mainly made up of Michigan transplants like me who came to see the Tigers fail in person. The attendance was 22,000 at the Saturday game we attended and more than half of those were people in Detroit gear who packed up after the Rays took an 8-0 lead.

Kelenic hit a 482-footer into the upper deck of the CF bleachers at Wrigley today. That's homers in three straight games, maybe it's finally clicking for him.

I can't link the video, but it's an absolute bomb.
