Unless there are some states where one must be 21 to work at all, I would think it's the norm everywhere in the U.S. In Texas, underage servers have to be 18 (well, they did when my household included some folks for whom it might matter).

Less incentive to take steroids, so the safety issue is a wash. :)

Someone didn't pay heed to maple cocaine's advice...

The best thing is that the first minute is just banal platitudes that you'd find decorating any suburban wine mommy's house and then the mask comes off like Clark Griswold after the Jelly of the Month Club sinks in.

This is an interesting list: Alcohol serving ages

Most places you must be 18 to serve (as in a restaurant) and 21 to work bar.

Interesting outliers: West Virginia allows 16 year olds for both and Maine is 17. Kentucky is 20, for some reason.

Looking it up now, it seems most states permit underage-21 servers at age 18 except for Maine and West Virginia. Three states require the server to be age 21. Still seems strange, but anyhoo.

So lemme make sure I gots this right. Republicans would rather have 15-year-olds working 3rd shifts in meatpacking plants...than adult immigrants from Honduras who risked their lives to get here? Is that the math?

The money wing doesn’t care what its labor pool looks like so long as it is cheap and docile. But they lost control of the GOP long ago and are reduced to spending their days jacking off to economics textbooks.

The former can't vote Democratic --- for three years, anyway.
