Eh, I kind of think it's more common than you'd think. Like, Rick Mirer logged eight years worth of games, and might have been on a roster for as many as 10. Trubisky is at six years and counting. If you're a first round pick, it usually means you have some kind of talent that one of the league's 32 OCs will squint at and go, "Yeah, I can fix that guy...!" I think it's more rare when a guy is a first round pick and done in 4 or less years - That's Ryan Leaf, DaMarcus Russell "off-field baggage" territory. Or a Paxton Lynch "this guy was WAY overdrafted" type.

For 32 mil, none of his ancestors should ever have to work hard or worry about money.

But someone will fuck that up eventually.

How many teams have been lead to the Super Bowl by washed out high draft picks?

    Plunkett… Schroeder… Williams…. Morton…

Good points. I completely forgot Gabbert started for San Francisco (thought he just backed up Kaepernick) and Tennessee (forgot he was ever even there). He's started for four teams, which isn't quite Fitzpatrick-ian but is close enough.

Gabbert has a $10 million arm and a 10 cent head.
