The 2023 Running Baseball Thread

The initial stories I have found say the preliminary plans in Vegas call for a "partially domed" stadium. I assume that is an odd synonym for retractable, as otherwise I really don't know what that even means; I can't imagine they are contemplating playing outside in Vegas in July and August.

 

Doesn't Oakland's contract with the Coliseum expire after this season? So, they would not be skipping out on anything.

Even if the A's averaged 15K in their new smaller temporary Vegas stadium they'd draw 1.2 million, better than what they'll draw this year.

Politically there truly does seem no way they can get a stadium built there, cheap owners or not. So for maybe the first time in franchise history, a move may be justified.

Now, maybe Portland can scoop up the Las Vegas PCL franchise. They're gonna build a new stadium out in Hillsboro to meet all the new MiLB specs.
