President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

They really should be held quarterly. But the press office has had to "clean up" a lot of Biden's slips lately. Maybe once he formally announces - but I doubt it. And its really bad that most pressers are hyper-focused on the news of the day. But I would like to hear updates on the border, Ukraine, China, inflation, if he's satisfied with the performance of Garland, homelessness, crime, police reform, the debt limit, etc. etc.

 

I feel like you can do this as a mini, mini State of the Union rebranded under a different name. He doesn't need to take questions or try to navigate the people who want to ask only Hunter Biden questions or whatever other nonsense. Just deliver an address on a bunch of topics.

Not sure what it would accomplish. The least amount of information you get from an administration is when the president is speaking. "The border is going great. Inflation is under control. We're making progress on Ukraine and COVID. And by the way, fuck you responsible middle class wage earners who have always paid your bills."

 

So one of the things Alabama very quietly does well is pre-K education (although it doesn’t fund it enough to take it statewide.) But Gov. Meemaw is going to junk all of that because we can’t have our babies catchin’ tha woke by osmosis!

By God we can’t have people feeling valued in this Christian state.

Agree, as far as actual information goes.

The subtext of them all, and Biden in particular, is how is this guy? What's his state of mind? How's his health? What's his mood? What's the range of his thinking? How's his sense of humor?

Press conferences are mostly a theater of reassurances.
