Every year the four of us in our high school English department do a field trip to Broadway to see a play (our department head is a big drama geek). As we live in Eastern Connecticut, it's not too far but it's a nice way to spend the day. The last one we did before the pandemic was "Network" with Cranston. The four of us - all in our mid-40s to early-50s - were geeking out. And it was tremendous (especially when he went into the audience toward the end). Afterward, we were talking about it with the students and were met with a bunch of lukewarm responses. Then they filled us in: Kids 16 or 17 aren't watching network news. So they have no idea about the inner workings like this. Kind of blew us away.

Too bad it’s more than a few bad apples, the whole orchard needs to be burnt to the ground.

I’ve thought about “Network” not registering with Gen Z recently.

The problem is the shows that were a farce on UBS no longer register as a farce. Every single one of them have a modern real-life equivalent.

This guy sounds like every preacher out there who is trying to fleece the public.

He’s found a new grift. Probably one that pays more than being a sports columnist. Good. For. Him. But it’s disingenuous at best.

After that last tweet from Whitlock, better get Franklin Graham as a warmup act.
