Kaitlin probably hasn't uttered this many homophobic slurs so gleefully since fall rush week.

 

It's even more difficult than trying to get TV news viewers to switch stations. Here, there are 3-5 choices for that. In the podcast world, it's THOUSANDS.

On top of this...
- if the microphone quality/production values aren't good
- if the podcast host doesn't have a broadcast voice
- if they spend the first 5 minutes bullshitting before getting to the topic

... I'm out and I never come back.

Every day, I hear some ad on my podcasts about some "amazing new podcast" and the scripts are boring, the pitch is awful and there is no way in hell that I'm giving it even 5 seconds of my time.

 

Getting rid of people immediately after they give notice is standard in a lot of industries. I don't get the point.
