I was listening to the Dodgers-Pirates on the radio yesterday and heard a fly ball to "Bay" in centerfield and thought, "oh shit, they brought back Jason Bay." Nope, it was Ji-hwan Bae.

I sorta remember a time when all of the Pirates infielders were named Dick -- 1B Dick Stuart, 2B Dick Schofield, SS Dick Groat and I can't think of who the 3B was. Popup to the mound area and the pitcher shouts for Dick to catch it.

Dick Hoak, right? (Way before my time, but ... baseball-reference.)

I had to look it up because I thought you were confusing him with the Steelers running back in the '60s, but apparently there were two Dick Hoaks playing different sports in Pittsburgh at the time.

As an AL fan I don’t run across the Rockies often. Looking at their roster…what the hell are they doing?

O's take two of three from Boston and are now 16-8. Five straight series victories.

I looked, too, and found Don Hoak was their 3B in that era. Maybe I am mistaken and it was only 3 infielders and the popup was kinda just to the right behind the mound. Anyway, the announcers got a laugh out of it.

Guardians with a couple nice pitching debuts this week. Those kids have a future.

Don Hoak. Booted a ground ball starting the 13th inning to end Harvey Haddix's perfect game.

Didn't quite reach the Snodgrass or Merkle-level boner for his obit, though.
