Also it came right after the keeper got his legs taken out (accidentally but still goaded the Rangers into a penalty).

    It did look bad
I don’t know if he has been asked about it (doubtful) but Trouba’s game is a lot like a guy he used to watch as a kid — Niklas Kronwall

I like the guy, but probably a dinosaur at motivating today's young players. In St. Louis, Doug Armstrong and Craig Berube both addressed how they need to examine themselves in that very area during their post-season pressers.
You may disagree, but the bigger loss to me is Treliving walking away. Unless there's something I'm not privy to, don't think he'll be unemployed long ... unless he wants to take a break.

No question Calgary will miss Tre. The only 2 v bad moves he made were signing Brouwer and, the killer, was giving James Neal his totally undeserving contract which hamstrung the franchise for the last 5 years. He even won the trade to get rid of Neal but Lucic in the lineup was a an albatross Flames could not afford. Two bad moves over 9 years is pretty impressive for any sports General Manager.
Also, he should have fine tuned the scouting department who for many years has been one of the worst in the NHL.

Neal and Brouwer. Seems almost a lifetime ago, but in reality not even close. Sucks getting old.

There must be some mourning going on today. And I don't mean that as a shot at anyone. Couldn't watch. 4-0? THAT got my attention.

The best thing I can say about it is that they didn't torture me by losing a close game. They didn't show up. It was pathetic. The only player who showed up last night was Igor. They didn't deserve to win that series. They were outplayed. I am not sure where you go from here with this roster. Panarin was invisible. Fox had one of the worst games I have seen from him since he joined the team. Goodrow is overpaid, and even though he wasn't the worst, he isn't adding much of anything. Kane was anemic for most of the series, except for one game. Zibanejad was playing hard, but nothing was happening for him. Kreider gets a lot of attention because he was the only one who scored goals during the series, but aside from his net front presence, he was a liability in about 10 other ways. One that I can't shake was how invisible Alexis Lafreniere was. It's particularly stark when you compare him to Jack Hughes who was the number one overall the year before. Lafreniere is a restricted free agent and the Rangers are running up against the cap. I hope they are seeing what the market is. Gallant didn't help either. He is not a very good in game coach, and there were no adjustments. He was outcoached by. .... Lindy Ruff. All I can say is good on New Jersey. That team has a ton of offensive talent and they play hard and they play fast. They deserved to win.

Think the Leafs wish they had kept Carter Verhaeghe?
Not to mention the Islanders and Lightning
