So an assistant manager’s salary, minus benefits. They came out ahead on the deal.

    Kid's gotta do his chores!

I wish my replenishment manager wife was paid as well by Michaels.

I got a chuckle out of this line.

Fruits & vegetables, proteins and dairy are being pretty tight-lipped, I guess.

But what about grains and fats?

Babysitters charge some pretty outrageous rates at 2 a.m.

At the risk of drawing the ire of the nice set 'round here, it's entirely possible that in those kids' situation being there with their parent might have been the absolute best option.

Man, those night managers sure have a lot of kids because it was discovered 60 franchises across three states employed 305 children.

The franchisees were fined $212,000 for violating labor laws ... about $3,500 per location.

We have a local guy who grew up in the projects. His mother worked several jobs cleaning buildings around town and would take the kids with her at night. Of course she'd put them to work when they were there, and hide them if the building owners came around. A couple of the building owners knew they were there and looked the other way, knowing her situation.
He credits that with instilling his ridiculous work ethic that has served him very well in life. He recently got a high-level job with an NFL team and, a couple of years ago while working for another NFL team, bought his mom a house.
Obviously, his mother and those building owners who benefited from the kids' labor were child-enslaving monsters.

Never say never, but what are the odds of a federal labor inspector charging a violation if they find a 10-year-old after hours sitting in a back booth and playing on mom’s phone to kill time?
