My favorite INXS song might just be Pretty Vegas.

People in rap love Missy Elliot. As a performer, I just don’t don’t see it.

As I wrote up thread, Sheryl Crow shouldn’t come close to the conversation. Weak voice with a couple of hits.

The album Listen Like Thieves was No. 11 on the Billboard charts.

"What You Need" was a top 5 single.

"The One Thing" made the top 40.

Pretty sure every album Motley Crue put out in the ‘80s went platinum several times over.

Oingo Boingo was top 10 of the '80s even if they were SoCal-centric for the first half of the decade.

I'll give 'em credit for this:

Mötley Crüe has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, including 25 million in the US.

Top-10 is a different discussion, entirely. The Police and Van Halen are definitely up there. But The Police's last album was released in 1983. Dave left VH in '85.

Justin Bieber has sold a metric fuckton of albums, too.

I agree that parameters should be in place if the discussion is about an entire decade.

    Otherwise the Stray Cats ...

Shit, when did Danny Elfman start doing movie scores? Seems like it was early in the '80s as well.

I think his first real score was "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" in 1985.

Who owned the 80s in terms of touring revenue?

Dead? Stones? Not saying this means owning the decade, just curious.

Madonna should be in the conversation of owning the 80s, especially if one considers the video boom.
