Prince and Bruce Springtseen bear mentioning as dominant 1980s acts. Bruce, especially, he put out four albums starting in 1980 with The River and three of the four (Born in the USA and Tunnel Love, also) went to No. 1. Nebraska "only" went to 3.

And shit, Prince was in own damn movie, "Purple Rain."

I can hear that entire score in my head on demand, I watched that movie so much when I was a kid.

According to this, it’s Pink Floyd.

Also, huge fail on my part forgetting about Bruce Springsteen.

Stones have them if you combine multiple tours.

Maybe it was early 90s when the Dead were touring and making huge bank. Doing 5 shows in one city sure helps.

U2 became a stadium band with Joshua Tree. I saw them on the War tour at Massey Hall in Toronto with the Waterboys. A few years later they were one of the biggest bands on the planet.

Between newspaper jobs in the '90s I saw the Dead at Rosemont, Deer Creek, Auburn Hills, Highgate Vermont (2x), Soldier Field, Giants Stadium, and a few other places.

How did a board of sports journalists forget Bruce? Everyone here should feel shame.

I saw them at the Meadowlands in the summer of 1992. Once was kind of enough for me. I love their music, but can do without their traveling circus of deadheads.

I have a lot of friends who still go see Dead & Company. No interest in a Jerry-less version. Especially not when the addition is superdouche John Mayer.

I don't know how much I'd give to have been able to see that Floyd tour. But it's a lot. Alas, it ended when I was 8.

Pink Floyd was my first concert ever. 1988 at the Meadowlands in support of Momentary Lapse of Reason. I was 14. Also the first time I was offered pot. And probably the last time I declined.

Probably the one band I was huge on in high school who I still love hearing today. Their catalog is amazing.
