Leafs showed some life last night. Don't think this Woll kid is going to turn into a Ken Dryden, but Boudreau gets more time to analyze his next project.

Canes were so bad the 2nd period (and maybe the Devils were just that good), then stole a goal in the last minute. Played great from there. A satisfying series win.

Things that must be awkward: In-game reporter Kathryn Tappen just interviewed her ex-husband, Kraken ass't Jay Leach, in between periods.

Glad you could hear the whistle. I couldn't.

Is that why that goal got waived? I was fighting a toddler and only saw the puck cross the line. Didn’t hear a whistle.

So they didn’t blow the whistle but should have because the ref lost sight of the puck? Feels a little harsh for that play but at least it’s a legit reason.

The over the glass delay of game rule simply has to be changed. Inadvertently knocking a puck out of play, when it would have hit the glass had they not been in front of the bench, should not decide a game in overtime.

So I need someone smarter than me to explain why that was icing. I know they changed the rule to stop the sprint to the red line but when the gosh tender attempts to play the puck, I feel like that should be not icing. But someone can explain it to me, I’d appreciate it.

And that's it for the Leafs.
