I’m so glad Florida won it on a turnover turned fast break rather than on the icing call.

Great play by Gudas on that steal to start the 3-on-2.

From the former SouthLeast to the last two standing in the East.

Two Sun Belt teams going at it for the East's berth in the Final. Mo against the organization where he cut his coaching teeth because Peter Karmanos was too cheap to pay a player who had to retire young due to an eye injury.

The Leafs ended a curse, but not the curse.

And both MLSE and the Centre of the Hockey Universe will melt down. How extensive will the potential housecleaning be?

It was icing because the linesman and later the refs all fucked up. But officially they said Bobrovsky’s attempt to play the puck wasn’t until after the Florida D had beaten Bunting to the dot.

There are way too many icings called in this league. If a second D slows up the forward (like Staal was on that play), it should be waved off. If a D steps up to hit a forward rather than attempt to play the puck as it’s going down the ice, it should be waved. But it never seems to happen.

I suspect Keefe is done in Toronto, but the real question is whether Shanahan and Dubas survive. Personally I can’t see firing Dubas and keeping Shanahan, but I’ve been wrong before.

Edit - Dubas is on a contract that expires June 30, which adds to the intrigue.

I can see Chris Drury hiring Keefe if the Leafs let him go.

Any word on whether Damien Cox is slurping Boudreau yet?

Seriously, the Boudreau-to-Leafs storyline is intriguing as hell to me.
Boudreau told me years ago while toiling as a minor-league coach his dream job was the Leafs. He admitted (on Jeff Marek's podcast, IIRC) the Leafs tried to hire him as an assistant to Keefe prior to the Vancouver gig.
Boudreau explained that he didn't want to be perceived as looking over Keefe's shoulder or the coach-in-waiting.

I'd like to see it happen just to watch Toronto talking heads go gaga over Gabby, then watch the tire fire if things go south and Gabby reverts to Crabby.

I tried to follow Damien last night but his tweets are protected. He was whining about something.

I don’t see Shanahan hiring Boudreau. Based on how things went in Vancouver, he may be waiting a while for an offer.

Gallant seems like a fit - he’s good at giving a team a quick bump.
