I'm almost 50 and *I* don't watch much TV at all. I consider it... a waste of my time unless I'm working through a show or if there is a live sporting event on at that time.

I haven't watched a shouting sportswriter show in 20 years and I'm around the same age. just no entertainment quotient there. Everybody loses.

ESPN won't abandon cable completely until the net revenue goes to zero. A high fraction over a billion is still a billion.

AT&T is still making gobs of money off people with landline phones, even ones they leased years and years ago and still pay the monthly fees.

    We're all stupid.

    Speak for yourself, Boomer. :)

I shirtcanned my landline and my DSL about 15 years ago and use my iPhone hot spot for everything I need work-related, which is well less than the 50 gigs on my plan. In fact, I just got a new AT&T phone today because my old one was on its last legs.

I don’t think it’s impossible if some cable-like package is the end result of all this in another 5-10 years, either. Cable at least seemed to work for everyone (except anyone trying to reach customer service) but I’m not sure streaming has proven the same.

Then again maybe the ad revenue isn’t there for 90s-2000s style cable anymore anyway.

point being, who the hell knows what’s going to happen.

What's happening ten? Some company has to come into the house. Are you going to do just Internet?

Maybe we will have satellite based ISPM

Some of the knocks against Kornheiser when he was making millions in the booth were that he didn't know the league and didn't know the rules. That has hardly changed, was not meant to change.

Good riddance. He's always annoyed the shit out of me. He tried to be smarmy like Olbermann and Kilborn but he has one-10th of the charisma and talent. And he has a very punchable face.
