Nice scheduling by the NHL. It’s Sunday, there’s one game and it’s being played at 10 pm eastern/7 pm western.

Was discussing this with a fellow hockey fan yesterday. We were confused, too. Best I can tell, it was ESPN’s turn to have this game (thus ruling out Turner), they couldn’t move Sunday Night Baseball or hockey to ESPN2. The biggest question then is why not a day game, since ESPN had mostly crap today but maybe Sportsnet vetoed it?

Edit: Plus that NBA Game 7, which was on ABC, right?

If the Warriors had forced a Game 7, it would be in the afternoon slot on ABC and Sixers-Celtics would have been the late game on TNT. Still surprised it's on the WWL's mothership, though. Bettman is praying Sunday Night Baseball doesn't go long.

Fuck you, Oilers. You, like the Jets, have disappointed me. You beat the Kings, which pleased me greatly. But you couldn’t eliminate Vegas. It will be a long time before I forgive you.

Not just that, but would it be that hard to put out the schedule for the next round? The ECF was set Friday night. You can't throw that out there? And after Vegas won, you can't have the two versions of the WCF should either team advance? You're really gonna wait until 11:30 p.m. eastern on a Monday night (or whenever Dallas-Seattle might end) to release it?

They're not doing it, because it's way short of a turnaround on a Monday announcement, but the Eastern Conference Finals should be starting on Tuesday night -- go from Game 7 Stars-Kraken right into it.

We all know the East is starting on Wednesday and the West Thursday...so just schedule the games. This isn't that hard.

Depends who has which conference. ESPN/ABC has the WCF in the NBA that starts Tuesday. But if they have the ECF in hockey, that won't start until Wednesday. Turner has the East WCF in the NBA starting Wednesday so they'll have hockey on nights they don't have the NBA.

Grubauer standing on his head to keep Seattle alive and the game scoreless.

Seattle is really sloppy tonight. Way too many turnovers.

And the East won't start until Thursday (TNT) with the West starting on Friday (ESPN).

Which made Grubauer that much more impressive.

Damn. I have no dog in the fight and no reason to care but I was hoping Seattle would advance. Hope they make another run next year.

Cap tip to Dallas. Great series.
