    The Jam. They split in '82. They never really got a big boost from MTV, but probably would have if they stuck around. (Not that Paul Weller cared much.)

    Styx was inescapable on MTV when "Kilroy Was Here" came out and Dennis DeYoung didn't leave until '84.

    Those people LOVE the Monkees.

    That forum is like slipping into an alternate universe where the biggest bands in history are The Beatles, The Monkees, and KISS. (And sometimes Wings.)
