Actually that’s a quality pull. Makes perfect sense.

May the Fourth Be With You.

Enter Grogu or Baby Yoda in a Google search. Check the lower right corner of your screen. Click on the little guy and watch.

There is also a new batch of Visions shorts on Disney+. I thought the first one was good. Haven't gotten to the rest yet.

Disney+ added some new content for Star Wars Day. One was a new Simpsons short with Maggie getting ahold of Grogu's pod. It's cute and silly, so exactly what you'd expect.

The other is a second season of Visions, an anthology of stories set within the universe of Star Wars, but mostly with original characters and a variety of animators. The stories range from silly to serious, each with a different style, and they have the mix of darkness and hope that is key when Star Wars works. The first season wasn't bad, but not memorable. The second is better. I keep finding myself wishing for more from some of these characters.

I can't say I'm surprised. I'm just hopeful that they will get it right.

Just re-read those last month. I haven't read the other three (4?) Thrawn books.

I haven't read any of the newer ones, which are all canon. All I know of in-canon Thrawn is his turn as the primary villain during the final season of Star Wars: Rebels. I only have so much patience for novels in the new canon after Disney's decision to toss out all the old stuff I had read and mostly enjoyed.

Have a vacation coming up. Looking to completely unplug and read fiction.

Think I might order the Zahn trilogy in paperback. Been at least 20 years since I’ve read them.

I did that in the fall. Actually, I found my old copy of the first book and ordered the other two. It was very much worth the time.

I really hope they don't screw this up, but it looks damn good.

I will say these larger Star Wars stories do seem to keep following the same arc. Some version of the Republic is in power, but falters due to complacency and corruption, allowing the villains to rise and screw everything up again.
