So you’re too lazy to try to understand it? My opinion is based on people who were in the room through the process, journalists. Explain to me why other billionaire owners would go along with this. The teams were give their numbers in advance. Not all opinions should be given equal credibility.

You guessed right, you aren’t right about a conspiracy. They had the 3rd best odds, wow, what a jump.

This is exactly how all conspiracists respond, they have no logical answers.

What was the chance that Anaheim wouldn’t pick first? I know they had an 18.5 per cent chance to win outright, and would hold first in some scenarios where the long shots won but wouldn’t pick first. So it was around 80 per cent that they wouldn’t get it.

They had the best odds, but they weren’t exactly a presumptive winner.

Someone had to get the first pick. In 75 percent of all probable outcomes, the Ducks would not get the first pick. And guess what, the Ducks landed in one of those outcomes that fell under the "75 percent chance to not get the first pick."

If the Ducks have a significant chance to NOT get the first pick
    AND
If the Ducks fail to get the first pick
    AND
If a team must get the first pick
    THEN
A team with lower odds than the Ducks MUST get the first pick.

The team with the third best odds got the pick. Not the Habs who could have used that pick to break the Canadian Stanley Cup drought. Not Philly who has a large market themselves. Not Washington who could have used it to give Ovechkin one more Cup before he retires. Not Original 6 Detroit. Not let's-create-a-playoff-rivalry-with-Seattle Canucks. Not San Jose or Columbus who I'm sure have good reasons to rig the lottery for.

Basically, you can make up BS reasons for any team in the lottery to have the lottery rigged for them. Even the Ducks I'm sure could have a BS reason made up except they have the guise of "we're the team with the best odds!"

"The Earth is round" and "The Earth is flat" are two separate opinions. If you're comfortable publicly being a Flat Earther, more power to you.

Or Bettmans baby in Arizona to try to save the franchise from moving.

This is the other part of the discussion the Flat Earthers won't acknowledge. Other than market size, why the Blackhawks? Montreal would have been much more compelling, and also a pretty large market. And Montreal wouldn't have pissed anyone off or led to cries of "RIGGED" from Trumpy NHL fans.

I left that out because the arena vote probably would have failed regardless and the team would still be in limbo. But, yes, an exciting young player could be a savior to the franchise.

C'mon, dude. NHL draft lottery vs. flat-earthers? Don't fall off that limb before it break on its own.
Montreal had the No. 1 pick last year. You probably forget, or never cared. They couldn't give it to them again.
That is my whole point. After a little bit of analysis, it came down to Chicago for me. I put it out there. I was right. Get over it.

You analyzed the lottery, lol. I hope you put a bunch of money on it since you analyzed it so well.

Why couldn’t they give it to them back to back, they rigged it for big market Edmonton to get 3 out of 4?

Why do the other owners allow this, Alex?

It’s not true sports if it’s rigged.
