We're getting a huge influx of Floridians moving to North Carolina. It's interesting to me. In the Triangle, where I live, it seems like a lot of families looking for good job opportunities and getting away from the mess that is Florida schools at the moment.

I feel for them, though, as we're probably only a few years behind Florida's craziness. The GOP continues cementing its control over the levers of power despite being the third-largest political geoup behind Dems and Unaffiliated voters. And our Republican candidate for governor in 2024 makes DeSantis look like he belongs in Mensa. He'll probably win, too, giving the GOP complete control of state government.

The Asheville-area and Southeast NC are getting big influxes of retirees coming north.

Good. She’s a bit of a loose cannon. And she claimed to be not politics as usual, but she was the biggest crony of the bunch. She tried to bully the media when she was the Suffolk DA. She was not successful.

You can apply this to Alabama as well. The D's here are a little fiefdom for a few at the top, and completely ineffectual outside of the majority Black city areas.
