Gannett spent decades helping destroy local news. I, for one, have supreme confidence they're just the people to save it.

Do they have any idea how insulting and ridiculous they are?

Based on their emails I used to receive right after layoffs that touted their unwavering commitment to local journalism, I'd say "No."

Executives born in 1986 trying out strategies from 1986. That should work.

Honestly the only keywords missing are synergies and headwinds. Standard boilerplate text for Gannett.

So they’re killing journalism in order to save it?

I'd love to be in one of these meetings and ask - so we're going to start hiring people to handle all these new initiatives?

    "Well, let's not get crazy."

Wanna make a Gannett exec's head explode? Just ask them if this new initiative means we'll be writing high school gamers again.
