9 out of 10 of the dumbasses do that crap have zero training or skill.
Most everyone I know who owns them has never been in the military.
Me, along with most other veterans I know, say, "I don't need an assault rifle."

This was a tough read. One that should be required of every elected official.

Nope. There's a bemulleted, squat little fireplug of a boy and his meek wife who are often at the deli in the Middle of Nowhere, Kentucky. My mother and I see him when we flee Nashville F. TN for the day. He's never without his tiny gun and holster, on display for all to see. Some of the locals told me he's a bully, especially toward the Amish and women. According to one of my buddies, he was there the afternoon a KY HP came in to get a few things. They told me he tailed him around the store and got behind him in line when the HiPoPo went to check out. As the officer, who was a big fella, was conducting his business, Shawty started clicking something on his holster, gun, somewhere in that vicinity. After about a minute of this, the Patrolman turned around and sternly asked, "You tryin' to get my attention, Fatboy?"

Fatboy blushed, set down his basket, and walked out. My bud didn't say if there'd been much change in his behavior.

@Driftwood is undoubtedly braver than I am, with me not being a fan of getting holes punched into my body and all. Still, this thing where males seem to think displaying a gun on their persons gives them some sort of cache just seems to invite derision from the people they're trying to impress. The owner of the dojo my nephew attended walked around the dairy section, holster on display one morning while I was chatting up a soldier who was buying art supplies on sale for his daughter. Karate Nibs made eye contact with the soldier and saluted him. The soldier shook his head and asked him is yogurt was really that dangerous.

Rifle racks in Daddy's old pickup used to be a thing. Now it's cause for a visit from law enforcement.

From your keyboard to God's eyes. Sometimes I wonder if open carry triggers people who might or might not start firing into a crowd.

The other week I saw someone describe Huntsville, Ala., as “a gun rack on a Prius,” and damn if that doesn’t feel like a perfect description.

That made me laugh. It's so on the nose.

Police officers in a shithole town in middle-of-nowhere Texas shouldn’t have to be an elite fighting force. But these officers failed to do the bare minimum.

It's not really about bravery as much as being able to read and size up your opponent.
The douchenozzle trying to draw attention to himself doesn't account for the other armed person who does everything not to draw attention to themselves.
Thunder is impressive but harmless. It's the lightning you never see that kills you.
