People who know the constitution inside out say stuff is unconstitutional all the time.

I’m all for a more rigorous teaching of the constitution in high school though - with the very same citizenship test required for graduation. I doubt schools will be down for that, though.

 

They've been analyzing candidate vocabulary for a long time, at least back to Kennedy-Nixon, and the trendline has been straight down for more than half a century. Alma is right. Joe Biden, by background, temperament and as a matter of practical politics, does not speak in more than sixth grade English when speaking extemporaneously or even in most of his speeches.

 

To be fair, few people know more about getting paid not to work.

Certainly Trumpist states will oppose it. They're terrified of it. They bask in their native-born stature and claim excessive patriotism, sneering at darker-hued people from other places along the way. The ugly truth for the Trumpist klan is that citizenship candidates, most of whom didn't even speak English or grow up in the US, know far more about the US and its history and government than Trumpists.

 

It's not for nothing that the DNC stands for Depends Need Changing.

 

Californians Harris and Newsom will duke it out in 2028. But if shit gets sideways, they might be duking it out for President of the Republic of California.

 

Newsom terms out after 2026 elections. Plenty of time to build a war chest.
