Little doubt that the jelly was purple and, therefore, revered.

The difference between LSU fans and the rest of us is their 7-year-old daughters know the names of the guys in the lineup and just when to hit the sarcastic “thank you” to the ump.

Every time the Whistler gets cranked up, the home plate umpire expands the strike zone to the detriment of Vandy. Not sure that’s a morally suspect position; just an observation.

This weekend might be a good test of how LSU will do in the NCAA Tournament. Skenes had a rare bad outing and they lost to Arkansas. Now they need the rest of the rotation to pick him up and win three more.

    Some West Coast results:
Both games in the first round of the Mountain West tourney at Fresno State ended via run rule, Air Force over San Diego State and No. 1 seed San Jose State over Fresno State. Loser leave town game between Aztecs and Bulldogs Friday at 1:30 PT, followed by Falcons-Spartans at 6.
Pac-12 at Scottsdale: Arizona, Washington and Stanford advanced to cham pionship rounds out of pool play, fourth spot TBD.
WCC at Las Vegas: St. Mary's with a couple of upsets so far, beating Gonzaga in an outbracket game, then knocking off top seed Loyola Marymount today. Portland and Santa Clara playing as I post this.
No tournament in the Big West. UC San Diego has a two-game lead over Fullerton and three over Santa Barbara. Tritons have the Big West bye this week, while Fullerton hosts Long Beach and Santa Barbara is at Hawaii.

I am very sorry to report the Florida Gators can hit the everloving shit out of baseballs. Watched a guy crank one 421 feet to very nearly dead center field, and that turned out to be only the second-longest bomb. Grand slam wins it against Vandy.

UF had four hits, three of them home runs.

Wyatt Langford would not be a terrible first round pick for anybody, but I hope the Tigers get a shot at him.

Is UC San Diego eligible for regionals or are they still in their transition period?

Per Wikipedia, in transition until 7/1/2024.

Nebraska had a four-pitch inning against Michigan State, scored a run, and did not hit a home run. That's odd. Single, bunt, RBI single, double play, all on the first pitch of the at-bat.
