Of course Trump is going to defend someone who abuses his office for profit, puts his mistress on the payroll, and is shameless enough to try to get the state to pay his $3.3m fine.

 

"Not serious people" is not nearly a strong enough descriptor of the GOP. That will not turn anybody away from it.

The words needed are more along the lines of "destructive," dishonest," "disingenuous," "deceitful" and "duplicitous."

Intentionally and repeatedly so. And the examples need to be hammered over and over.
