Be careful about making outlandish statements, they come back to bite you in the ass.

The only Sharks-related post I'll be able to make on this thread. Yes, this is the official team account.

Florida vs. Vegas: Get ready for record-breaking Final ratings. And not in a good way.

We don't have an offseason NHL thread yet, but the Caps hired Spencer Carbery from Toronto as head coach. Had a lot of success as a minor-league coach in the Caps' organization. Feels like a good hire, but we shall see.

He interviewed for the Rangers job. My bet he is he is going to do a good job as a HC. But this is Chris Drury's last shot at hiring a head coach (you don't get a third try) so he was not going to hire an unknown entity (now watch, he's going to hire a "who's that"? coach). Plus, the Rangers lockerroom needs someone who commands respect based on a track record, because whoever takes over needs to get some vets to buy into a style they have resisted. I don't know if that is possible, but someone with no head NHL experience may not do it. In the case of the Caps. ... among the known quantities, all I see is retreads and ho hum names that I am not excited about, so I'd be totally down with this hire if they were my team. I'd rather the dream of finding a Jon Cooper or Jared Bednar than see one of the tired faces that are waiting to be recycled.

I agree with you. Had no real interest in someone like Gallant or Sutter or whoever. Caps just tried that with Lav and it didn't really work. That Carbery has had major success within the organization is a plus. This feels different than when they went with Todd Rierdon. Also, Hershey's up 3-1 in the AHL East finals so there's at least that to watch.

In Nashville, Trotz hiring Andrew Brunette as HC. I thought he would make a good Leefe replacement in Toronto.

I heard on the radio that Treliving is the favourite for the Leafs job, but I still find that a strange choice.

Interesting. One of Trotz’s originals from the 98 expansion team and scored the first goal in Preds history. Glad to see the John Hynes era snuffed out.
