It's the 13th anniversary of Armando Galarraga's perfect game that wasn't because of a blown call on what should have been the final out. The biggest thing I remember is everyone involved handling with class, making the best of a bad situation.

I'm sure Galarraga, his family, friends, Tigers fans, etc., would prefer to have the perfect game.

But is it a bigger baseball memory because of what happened?

Joyce recovered his luggage upon returning home and found a handwritten note from the Detroit airport staff: “we are all human.”

Fucking homers. Dodgers pregame does top 10 Dodgers-Yankees moments and doesn’t have Reggie’s three HR game. Maybe just call it Dodgers top moments vs Yankees cuz that can’t be left out.

Yeah but everyone knows him as the worst pitcher to ever throw a perfect game. I'd rather have that be known for throwing the perfect game that was blown by a bad call on the 27th out.

This is worth the time. As a dad with a daughter in college who seemingly has her entire life ahead of her, I just hope she gets a chance to even chase her dreams like Sarah. But the stark realization that nothing in life is guaranteed is so humbling. I imagine there are people here who know Sarah. What a light she is in her profession, to her family and friends, and in her fight:

"then signed a seven-year, $245 million deal with the Nationals."

WTF were they thinking. It might be unrealistic thinking, but any MLB GM who signs a pitcher to more than a 2- or 3-year contract has to be crazy. Maybe you won't be able to sign any high-price talent. I very easily could be wrong but the track record for pitchers signing huge long-term deals isn't very good.
