Iga has played six sets in this tournament. She’s won four of them 6-0.

Poor Dick Enberg must have had to do a lot of fill after that one.

NBC did a ton of tape delay/plausibly live back then so I am sure he time to think of some stuff.

Because the matches started at 9 a.m. and the broadcast at 3 p.m., they actually put commercials in at the end of even games sometimes (not just changeovers).

And because they had a set broadcast window (2 hours for the women, 3 hours for the men) that could not be altered, you knew the ending long before the broadcast ended.
If a woman takes 65 minutes to win the first set, you know she won the match, because there's no way they're gonna play two more sets in 55 minutes.
With the men, they would just skip some games here and there to get it in the three-hour window.

I’m loving this Cerundolo guy. His defense is ridiculous.

He got the short end of the stick in what was one of the worst calls ever. Sometimes it's hard to see a double bounce because the player gets to the ball just when it's about to hit the ground; this second bounce hit the court a good six-nine inches before Rune hit it; the chair umpire inexplicably called it good.

The Djokovic-Alcaraz semifinal turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the tournament. Tied at one set apiece, Alcaraz began to have cramps in "every part of my body", and he was done from there.

Casper Ruud has played 17 sets against Federer/Nadal/Djokovic.

And has lost all 17. That's what being the fourth best tennis player in the world gets you.

I started to watch and he was up 3-0 in the first and still had nothing.

Still ... Casper is a great first name.

Ruud looks like a thoughtful, nice person. Hope he wins a major soon. I dislike Djoker the person now but damn he’s so good.

The announcers kept talking about what a great guy he is, so I would say yes.
