As part of YouTubeTV, I get the Fight Network now. That means NJPW. Since rain chased me inside I’m watching G1 Climax from 2022 and I’m struck my how deathly quiet the crowd is. I assume that’s a respect thing, right? But you can hear the wrestlers so clearly. Jay White talks shit all match. But it must be rough to call a match when it’s so quiet.

 

I think it's a mixture of Japanese custom, and if it was 2022, maybe a bit of the tail end of COVID precautions they had. I believe they asked people not to cheer, so not to risk any spread.

 

Apparently Asuka and Iyo Sky worked a little blue on Smackdown, but since it was in Japanese it took people a little while to figure it out.

 

Braun Strowman has had neck fusion surgery. Likely out the rest of the year.
