I didn’t think there was anything to this hit. Obviously NASCAR disagreed.

They called it out right away on the broadcast, and the radio chatter from Hamlin and Brad Keselowski — who got caught up in it as an innocent bystander — seemed to indicate there was some intent behind it. It also looked like Elliott took a hard left turn into Hamlin.

Put it like this: If this was worth parking Chase Elliott, how many races could the Busch brothers have been parked over the years? And, while this might anger his legions of fans, how about Ironhead?

Last time I saw a fat, all-white crowd like that Trump was mocking a disabled reporter.

Good. Nice to know Bill's kid isn't above the law. If Dale Jr. did that in this era they would've replayed every wreck his dad caused in the 1980s and at Bristol and the Chase Elliott fans, of all people, would've been demanding a season-long suspension.

Chase has Bill's sourpuss along with an attitude that probably should be taken down a couple notches. He's shown his ass before (see Harvick at Bristol and the post-crash blocking). A helluva talent, but you can't be doing that at a track like Charlotte.

That meeting was more exciting than the race.

This Detroit layout is crap. I guess at some point street races worked.
I miss the old Cleveland airport. There was room for people to spread out and race.

This thing reminds me of driving this morning south of Asheville on I-26 with two lanes and barriers. No shoulder. Makes you pucker.

What was the issue with Belle Isle? The layout? Park maintenance? Run a race on a pretty-looking island with a lot of neat scenery seems to me like it’d be a no-lose. Yet folks bitched about Belle Isle for at least 20 years.

Not watching the race, but apparently a member of Erik Jones' pit crew got hit by ... somebody? He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Initial report was that it was Austin Dillon, but it seems that was off base.

I actually saw a crew member hit and killed at Atlanta in maybe 81 or 82. Dude went sailing like a rag doll. That was pretty traumatic for a kid.
