Well that's certainly part of what it says.

When someone's home burns down and you have to pay to replace it as an insurer, no, it doesn't HELP you when the state is mandating that you have to pay an extra $20,000 for solar panels on the new home that didn't exist on the old home (just as one example).

    I didn't say "always."

Solar panels don't make a house stronger. Some things that cause higher building costs DO make a house stronger.

Of course. But that isn't the basis for how much higher construction costs are in California. Even if it was, those are decisions that should be made by the home owners and the insurers (who can offer reduced premiums for homes with safety features).

Why the effect on climate change is going to be the thing to change corn ethanol policy is beyond me. It has been a boondoggle and economic nonsense since it was developed. No disinterested person ever advocated for corn ethanol.

There’s no definitive proof lack of summer Arctic ice will have anything to do with future climate disasters. Further study is needed.

If nothing else, it's made possible a direct Siberian sea invasion of Nunavut.

Better roll all sixes in the new game.

Heaven forbid the insurances companies have to live up to their end of the deal.
They happily accept monthly premiums for times when people's homes or cars aren't damaged. I don't see them returning unused funds.
In the years I've owned my truck, I've paid more than $10K in monthly premiums. I plan to trade in a month or two. If we are just talking good business, I should be able to tell State Farm that I never filed a claim on that vehicle once I no longer own it, so I should get my money back.
On the other hand, I'll keep paying for the rest of my life and pray I never need to file an auto or home claim, all the while praying that if I do, the insurance will make good.

Still in litigation for a pair of claims I filed 22 months ago. Haven't heard a word since my Feb. 7 deposition. Two emails to lawyer have gone unanswered.
