An interesting observation, and maybe not a wrong one, at least in the recent past. I think it's kind of the residue of Pizzagate. "Pedophile" is kind of the most noxious insult that fits into the Overton window right now, and honestly, it's not even all that new. I mean, how different is all of this from the Anita Bryant "recruiting" panic?

Bryant was 40 years ago or so. It seemed like for the last decade or so as a society we had gotten past it and maybe for the most part we have but it seems like ever since DeSantis’ press secretary re—introduced the term “groomer” into our discourse the pushback has gotten stronger. Maybe it’s just a small but vocal part of society but bigots of all stripes have become very comfortable letting their freak flags fly.
