The two state houses closest to flipping blue are Arizona (only a +2 Republican majority in each chamber) and Michigan (+6 in House, +4 in Senate with 2 vacancies). Virginia's lower house is only +4 Republican and the Senate is still blue but their election cycle is off. Nevertheless, getting Arizona and Michigan to flip is crucial.

Today's SCOTUS ruling in the Alabama case might be further proof that SCOTUS is political AF. A total reversal of jurisprudence from (recent) stare decisis.

They saw the way the political winds were blowing and reacted accordingly — lest Ms. Pac Man pay a visit with Biden at the joystick.

Short version: Roberts got Kavanaugh to ride along.

I’m grateful for today, but after writing Shelby County v Holder, this is like Roberts tossing a chip back to the dealer after a windfall at the table.

Kavanaugh could end up the Anthony Kennedy of the 2030s, which again is his political decision.

The VRA had been the law of the land since 1965 until it was gutted by Shelby Co. vs. Holder. That's when established law for more than 50 years it became political.
