It was political then and it's political more than ever now.

If by political you mean actually insuring everyone has a Constitutionally protected, equal right to vote, then I guess it was political. Especially if you were a white person in one of the states that was essentially an apartheid system when it came to voting.

Taking that right away definitely was.

Voting should be the easiest thing to do for a citizen in a democracy, since that's what actually makes it a democracy. One party seems determined to limit that right, under the guise of "integrity."

Dissent from Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch. Kavanaugh and ACB voted with the majority. Which means that Trump could have pulled off his coup if he'd gotten his court picks right.

I’m surprised it was Gorsuch. He actually seems sane. Uncle Thomas and Alito were on brand. The sooner they shuffle off this rock the better.

I'm on the same page with you on Gorsuch. Thought his dissent last week in the Navajo water issue was pretty well done.

Imagine how many cases are being brought to the court that even solid Rs never would have tried before the Dobbs decision.

This is just a natural course correction from the activist courts that gave women control of their own medical decisions.

I assume all of this is cushioning the blow before they lower the boom on affirmative action.

That one might well get demolished in a 7-2 vote. Stretch goal is putting it politely.

All those "bootstraps" guys against forgiveness, bragging about how hard it was to pay back their student loans when it cost $500 per semester.
