Oakland A's headed to Las Vegas

Except for the summer, the weather is fine

 

Don't forget all the folks in Lake Tahoe, just 15 minutes away.

From what I've seen in news reports and via Twitter, it appears the A's are taking one out of Al Davis's playbook when he moved the Raiders back to Oakland: A lot of incomplete items that no doubt Nevada will be on the hook for. Kaval, his chief lackey, has been played badly by the legislators. Where is Fisher? I've heard he was taking a tour of a minor league soccer facility in Oakland today.

MLB should demote the A's. And the Cardinals.

 

Update: Fisher was touring the former Raiders practice facility in Alameda, which is being leased by the Oakland Roots (USL?).

Triple-A team has played outside there for decades. They play outside in Fresno, and throughout the California League. Atlanta plays outside, and I can't believe Sacramento is anywhere near as humid. So do St. Louis and KC, and I've heard it's miserable there too in the summer. KC for sure, according to Ichiro.

Of course, I've never spent a summer there. So I could be way off base, it's happened before. I'll gladly defer to the locals.

Tonight is "reverse boycott" night in Oakland. Fans are encouraged to come to the game to show support for the team (not Fisher). A fan group has printed 7,000 t-shirts.
