It is 26 plus an NA. We discussed expanding rosters to 26 before I realized you can't have an NA position for the draft, so we went with it.

Let’s hear your opinion on a situation in my dynasty league. Guy traded for Josh Jung ($3) for Manny Machado ($83) and blew $35 past the cap. He intended to drop Woodruff to get under the cap, but then realized Woodruff was on the can’t cut list Saturday morning.

At 11:45 pm, Fantrax removed Woodruff from the can’t cut list. On Sunday, the manager was panicked because he couldn’t score points with his illegal roster. He dropped Julio Urias to get under the cap. He says he tried to drop Woodruff again just before he dropped Urias, but was unable. He said he then moved Woodruff to the IL and suddenly was able to drop him.

Fantrax can be wonky, so it’s possible that’s the case. Two managers argued we should give him back Urias at his original salary and we should have a vote. I argue that he shouldn’t have blown past his cap and put himself in that position.

I already made a decision, but I’m curious what would you all do as commish in this case?

My dynasty does not have an in-season cap.

I don't have a strong opinion, mostly because I don't know the guy or the history of your league. Does he have a history of playing games with the rules, or do you trust that he is telling you the truth? Is there a precedent for fixing mistakes like that? It open up a serious can of worms for you.

I think you leave it be. He still chose to cut Urias. It sucks, but if you start trying to fix every situation like that, things can get very messy.

I'm a softee, so I'd lean towards protecting him. Maybe that's why I'm rarely the commissioner when I can avoid it.

The guy is a straight shooter, so I don’t think there were any shenanigans on his part.

I wound up holding a vote that ended up in a 4-4 deadlock, so he lost Urias.

He has said he is quitting the league but will continue setting the lineup. I’m hoping he cools off and gets back into it. In hindsight, maybe I should have restored Urias to his roster rather than possibly lose him.

That sucks, but he did make his own mess by not realizing what the trade would do in terms of taking on salary and he did cut Urias. I don't understand why didn't just let the lineup be illegal and ask you to fix it.

Got an offer in another league of Kyle Tucker straight up for Cease. Neither one can be a keeper.

On its face, I like it. My third OF spot is weak (I have Acuna and Kwan, with Hays/Noda as third options). However, my hitting is strong and my pitching is mediocre. Not sure if I can risk Cease straightening out for the rest of the season and not having him. He’s been good for a month, not great.

What are the chances he finds his 2022 form moving forward?

To me that's a fine deal even if he does straighten himself out.

I wound up making the deal on similar reasoning. I don’t think I’ll regret having Tucker. I might regret not dealing Cease.

At worst, I’ve shored up my offense and now I need to just steal a pitching category or two every week, even if my pitching isn’t going to be dominant.

Did we even have a general fantasy baseball thread for 2023? I can't find it.

My 14-team auction keeper team is pretty much toast, so I'm looking at trading expensive veterans. One of the contenders has been trying to get Joe Musgrove from me. At $43, he will be too expensive to keep for next year. The latest offer is as follows.

    I give: Musgrove ($43)
I receive: Zach Neto ($4) and Bryan Woo ($6)

That includes the salary increases for next year. I'm not sure what to think of Neto's offensive upside and I don't like that big leg kick. Woo has been impressive, but he really only has one great pitch. He's going to have to develop his secondary stuff to complement that nasty fastball, which has great velocity with movement. I'm thinking of countering by asking him to include Conor Norby, perhaps the only good prospect in the Orioles' system who is still in the minors.

    What do y'all think?
