    Fun fact
Deep Purple got its name because that was the favorite song of Richie Blackmore’s grandmother

Heard "Positive Bleeding" the other day for the first time in a long while. That song cuts.

A couple of updates deserving of mention here:

"Paul" of Paul & Paula fame (real name: Ray Hildebrand) died over the weekend at 82. Basically known for the early '60s hit, "Hey, Paul." It hit No. 1 in February of 1963. "Paula" (real name: Jill Jackson) is still alive.

David LaFlamme, singer and violinist for San Francisco-based It's a Beautiful Day, died earlier this month, also at 82. Their only single to chart was "White Bird" which was a huge regional hit but only bubbled up nationally.

Not to be confused with "Paloma Blanca," which translates as "White Dove."

And not as great as "White Bird," but it's catchy and got plenty of radio time back in the day.

RIP Dream Weaver Gary Wright of Parkinson's and Lewy dementia at 80. Man, that whole album was fantastic for its unique use of keyboards. Love is Alive. Can't Find the Judge. The soundtrack to 1976.
