DoJ has bent itself into a pretzel to accommodate Trump and avoid the appearance or reality of political prosecution. Their reward is that the D's are pissed about how slow the process has been, and the R's are accusing them of political prosecution anyway.

They cry about what a raw deal he's getting. He's not in jail. He's not wearing an ankle bracelet. He is not restricted to the court district, or the state. He paid no bail. He has been handled with kid gloves from the very first approach by the National Archives. He still has his passport. He has his own private jet parked nearby, he's the very definition of "flight risk".
