It did end well, but Parades definitely has a gripe on that second strike from Bautista in the final AB, which was way outside. But hey, we'll take the breaks where we can get them.

 

Astros-Mets is a sloppy, drunken, everyone rolling around trying to fuck but passing out in the middle mess.

 

I had to avert my eyes. Mets are officially hot garbage and it's a lost year. They should be sellers at the deadline, keep restocking the farm.

I blame myself for expecting them to be good. I'm much happier when I know they'll suck.

 

The problem, of course, is they've invested $360M in this season and the NL is dogshit. They could totally crater over the next month and give themselves no choice, but if they remain where they are now, they'll probably try to make some fringe moves to try and squeeze into the playoffs and try and pull a Phillies. As Joel Sherman wrote in the Post today, Buck & Eppler probably can't survive to next year if they end up selling off this year.
