Salary dump. Boston doesn't have to retain any of the salary. ... Chicago has to overpay a few contracts to meet the minimum salary requirements, anyhow. Bedard will get to play next to a still semi-decent winger.

Hall will also provide the kid some protection. Been wondering how Chicago would address that. More to come.

Hall will be playing with his 6th number one overall pick in the pick's rookie season.

Hall is on the decline. But when you have the talent he had, and you are as well traveled as he has been, something about you can't be right.

    Ray Shero might second that.

The NHL awards show is so embarrassing and cringe worthy.

Who is hosting this year? Piscopo?

Yes. He has joked about his likely unmatched ability to win draft lotteries.

I am having a very difficult time thinking of a vote on a postseason award - ever, in any sport - more ridiculous the person who had McDavid 5th on his Hart ballot.

Torey Krug is apparently holding up a trade to Philadelphia with his no-trade clause. The Flyers would also receive a first-round draft choice. (St. Louis currently has three). Potential return for the Blues would be Kevin Hayes (man, it could use a center) and defenseman Travis Sanheim. From what I read, Philly would still munch away a good deal of Hayes's money.

No secret Doug Armstrong has considered moving either Krug, Faulk or Parayko. Faulk has been pretty good, Parayko is up and down, but Krug has had a hard time staying on the ice.
Worth noting some St. Louis fans have been moaning more lately, for an obvious reason, about Armstrong not re-signing Pietrangelo. Guess they've forgotten Alex wouldn't give STL an answer as the clock ticked down, so Army signed Krug. He's not the better player even when healthy but when you are held hostage on signing day, somebody has to make a decision. Armstrong did, but it hasn't worked out.

It was Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Reviews.
