I can't wait to see a real-live Blinky, the three-eyed fish. Some sort of super fish!

How about cutting down the post-meal emissions from pizza eaters? Fellow subway riders would appreciate that!

At some point the argument may need to switch from "How can we stop climate change?" to "O.K., how best to ADAPT to climate change?" (where we live, where we grow food, how strong our building codes are).

Neither is much fun nor without costs. But living beings have no proven success with the former and always have been doing the latter. It's how we currently are able to thrive on a planet with 140-degree differences on any given day in places we inhabit in the same hemisphere (85F in Miami/minus-55F in Barrow, Alaska***).

***which I guess has changed its name to Utqiaġvik.

People are going to have to give up scientifically baseless opposition to GMO's.

    Cutting to the future:

Me eating pizza at Arturo's: "What the fck?!?!? This tastes like hell."
Guy who wrote that article: You're just resistant to facts.

Seriously, thanks for that. Taking it outside the realm of the screech machine. ... that is a pretty big expense. Several of the grandfathered coal oven places own their buildings, so tens of thousands of dollars plus the maintenance expenses will be doable for them. But some of those places (particularly if they are running a wood oven) get eaten up by rent and they are are going to find that expense really difficult. There is talk about the city subsidizing it, but the city has a huge deficit and has already bankrupted itself for all intents and purposes.

In college one senior night we got about six inches of rain in an hour. The water on Willow Street was up to my knees. So we went down to Fat Harry's on Magazine Street to party, as you do in NOLA. They kicked us out when the lights went out, and it took a Checker cab to fjord the floodwaters and pick us up. I guess the NY Times stringer had the same idea, because our little bash made Page One the next day.

He has nothing to do with the part of my post you quoted either.
