How about cutting down the post-meal emissions from pizza eaters? Fellow subway riders would appreciate that!

 

At some point the argument may need to switch from "How can we stop climate change?" to "O.K., how best to ADAPT to climate change?" (where we live, where we grow food, how strong our building codes are).

Neither is much fun nor without costs. But living beings have no proven success with the former and always have been doing the latter. It's how we currently are able to thrive on a planet with 140-degree differences on any given day in places we inhabit in the same hemisphere (85F in Miami/minus-55F in Barrow, Alaska***).

In college one senior night we got about six inches of rain in an hour. The water on Willow Street was up to my knees. So we went down to Fat Harry's on Magazine Street to party, as you do in NOLA. They kicked us out when the lights went out, and it took a Checker cab to fjord the floodwaters and pick us up.
