Now, in a normal world, this would be fodder for days - weeks - on the late shows, and an abject embarrassment for the White House.

But my hunch is it'll turn precisely what you see it as - a commentary on how, eh, it's nothing new, something something something Trump.

 

A spokesman for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, said the substance is undergoing further testing to determine what it is, and authorities are looking into how it got into the White House. He said the D.C. fire department determined the substance, which was found in a “work area of the West Wing,” did not present a threat.

The White House, if one includes the Executive Office Building, is a very large place full of many people, from the President to run of the mill tourists. So I suggest that while it's certainly an intriguing story, it has yet to reach major news proportions, and won't until there's a better idea of whose cocaine it was, which of course could also be the fact that kills the story altogether if it belongs to some schmuck on a tour.

 

I do declare if "the late shows" do not cover this tonight, it is a liberal conspiracy!

The late shows sure have been cranking out some bangers recently, btw. Jokes all seem a few months out of date, though.

Like we didn't all see how the news covered and quickly moved on from pretty much every single Trump scandal that wasn't espionage or sedition.
