At first I thought Cohen was exaggerating the issue since the WaPo never mentioned suicide hotlines. But the archived version of the page (Resources for LGBTQ Youth - Adolescent Health) has the Trevor Project on there, plain as day. So why is the WaPo soft-pedaling the story - to avoid pissing off Youngkin or his backers?

 

The GOP in its never ending culture wars seem to have found a soft spot that teaching kids about sexual orientation and providing resources for them is somehow “grooming” them to be gay. It’s utterly preposterous and embarrassing that it has traction. Just like teaching kids that racism exists is making white kids feel bad about themselves.
