It is my sincerely held religious belief that Ronny Boy should never be president.

 

You could go to school for all 12 years studying nothing but the Alabama constitution and still not be done with it.

 

Tennessee requires students pass a U.S. civics test. I take the 100 questions provided for people to take a citizenship test, trim it down to about 70, add five state/local questions, and that's what they take as a graduation requirement.

 

Growing up as a kid, "Michigan Week" was something of a fixture of the latter part of the school year. Admittedly, that mostly just entailed what "Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam, Circumspice" meant in English ("If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you" - the state motto) and what a Petoskey stone was, but after that, things varied. I was enough of a politics dork that I wanted to know a lot of that stuff on my own time.

You forgot the apple blossom (state flower) and the robin (state bird). And the state song, “Michigan My Michigan.” Surprised they let you graduate.
