Aloysius Szymanski was one of Connie Mack's all-time favorite players, he viewed him as a son. His idiot older sons fired Simmons, who was essentially the A's manager while acting as the 3rd-base coach in the final years (1948-50) of Mack's managerial tenure. Probably the best Polish-American player ever.

A career .334 hitter who had 2,927 hits and bashed himself for not playing when slightly hurt, and giving away at-bats, when 3,000 hits became such a big deal and he fell just short.

Kirby Puckett is the all-time postseason home run leader for the Minnesota Twins, with 5. Who is second, with 4? (This does not include the old Washington Senators and their 1924, 25 and 33 WS appearances).

    Gaetti?

No, not Gaetti, he had three for the Twins, then two for the Cardinals.

Torii Hunter? (I'm thinking someone from the 2000s because the Twins actually made the postseason often al though they weren't very successful once they got there.)

    No, not Hunter.

I always thought this player was very unappreciated and would have stacked up much better in the analytics era. I'll have the answer in the morning.
