Immaculate grid

Looks like the Crossover Grid folks did a little spit polish with their NBA/NFL/NHL puzzles to make it look a little bit better, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them get swallowed up by the Reference folks before not too long.

 

Pure evil with in Thursday's grid if you like to keep your rarity score down, especially when you can use some of the few answers for 500 HR hitters in other boxes.

It said there were three in the 500 club who played in Detroit. I used Sheffield in the Padres column, and Miggy is the obvious answer. Who was the last one that applies to the Tigers? For the life of me, I never knew that Eddie Mathews ended his career in Detroit after the Braves and Houston.

Helped partially by my Braves fandom, my Rockies column was Jair Jurrjens, Walt Weiss and Bill Swift -- all 2 or 1%. Went with Jimmie Foxx and Willie McCovey in the 500 column after breaking the bank with Miggie as the obvious Tiger. Had to cheat for the Padres column after using Sheffield as a Tiger.

I used Rollie Fingers (5 percent) for A's/Padres and Gaylord Perry (2 percent) for Giants/Padres. If the grid were restricted to 1960s-1990s, I'd probably be immaculate every day lol

I appreciate the NBA game taking my answer, but for some reason, it brought up a picture of Kevin Williams, an '80s journeyman.
