The parents and politics who are complaining about CRT being taught in school are either ignorant or hateful. They should just say what they really feel about race — my white child shouldn’t learn anything about racism because it makes me sad.

 

And because the GOP has devoted decades to the bogus idea that lack of education inherent equals superior “common sense.” These people have no incentive to go to college because they will get the validation they need from their klan. That’s enough for them.

I think I shared this story here once before but just in case:

Around 2013-14, I started walking my neighborhood in the summertime because its way more interesting than the treadmill at Planet Fitness. Just pop in some ear buds, listen to a podcast or some tunes and take about a two-mile stroll. Always passed this one two-story house with an in-ground pool in the backyard. Couple was about mid-30s and the pretty blond was out by the pool more often than not in a swimsuit.

Then this election stuff started and a Trump flag was run up the flagpole, where it stayed for his entire four-year term. When he lost in 2020, that flag was eventually replaced with a "F*** Biden" flag. Keep in mind this is a well-traveled road that connects U.S. 11 to another road that runs parallel, not some back lane nonsense. So well-traveled that they're building a Sheetz a half block from this dude.

I've also noticed that I haven't seen woman in forever.

Nah you’re falling into Alma’s trap. He’s got you to legitimize the parent side which cannot be legitimized. The problems with schools are many but none of them have to do with giving students too much access to knowledge or allowing them to feel safe.

These parents are modern day book burners and segregationists. And Alma wants you to believe they are fighting the good fight and it’s misunderstood couching in terms like “without taking sides.” No. There is no both sides. You present this for wha for is: A fascist takeover of schools by zealots. Alma seeks to legitimize fascism and book burning and ugly, ugly prejudice by just asking questions. Call a fascist for what it is. These parents are fascists as are those who seek to legitimize them with seemingly innocent questions.
