Correction: I might want to check my math there

Everyone hates the metric system until they need to use water displacement to find the volume of something.

I prefer to use metric in cooking rather than imperial. When I’m adjusting recipes, I’d rather simple math than trying to figure out when a teaspoon becomes a tablespoon.

Also drinks are just easier to fathom in metric.

I don’t work much in displacement since I fixed my scale

I absolutely wish we would have gone to it in the 70s when we were supposed to. I was a kid and would have picked it easily. That's another thing that got screwed up by an election.
The one beef I have with the metric system is that 1 foot is a nice, round, convenient unit of measure. It's just much easier to say something is 5 feet instead of 1.something meters.
    Otherwise, I'm good with it.

Speaking of Florida, a 13-foot, 9-inch female Burmese python was captured/killed in the Everglades along with her nest of 111 eggs.
That's not climate change but a human-caused environmental disaster. Idiots turn these things loose, and they thrive, have no natural predators, and decimate native species.
If you know or care nothing about wildlife conservation, please do those of us who do a favor and buy a goldfish. Of course, I have seen several large koi in the pond at our public park that someone obviously dumped there.

They also caught a 19-footer last week that was believed to be the state record, and possibly a first- or second-generation Everglades python. They have a kill-on-sight order down there for them.
Not the first invasive species, sadly.
